MyOwnSomm.com was founded in Dublin by Greg and Michelle, two food-obsessed wine lovers who spent years hunting down great bottles in Ireland's best independent wine shops. We loved the shops and the people in them, but we kept running into the same problems you probably have too. Some days you just cannot get to the shop. Some days you stand in front of a wall of bottles and still are not sure what is right for that particular dinner or movie night. And too often when you do find something amazing, it is all too easy to forget the name, the price, or even which shop it came from.

We started MyOwnSomm.com as a side project at our kitchen table to fix those headaches for ourselves first. We wanted a simple way to tap into the same experts we already trusted in Irish wine shops, without any wine snobbery or hard sell. With our app you tell your local wine expert a bit about what you like, what you are eating, and your budget, and they build a bespoke order just for you. It feels like having your own personal sommelier on your phone, rooted in real shops with real people rather than a faceless algorithm.

Every wine you receive in an order is automatically saved to your online Wine Journal, so you never lose track again. Producers, vintages, prices, where you bought it, plus easy explanations of grapes, regions, and food pairings are all kept for you, ready to look back on the next time you are choosing wine. We are a small Irish business, not a big anonymous platform. No sponsored bottles, no tricks - just a straightforward way to discover better wine, support great wine shops, and slowly learn more with every glass.
