MyOwnSomm.com is a small Irish business founded in Dublin by Greg and Michelle, two food-obsessed wine lovers who kept seeing the same problem: people standing in front of a wall of bottles, guessing. We built MyOwnSomm.com so real Irish wine experts in real shops could build bespoke wine orders for you, matched to your taste, budget and occasion – and so you’d never forget a great bottle again.

We started MyOwnSomm.com as a side project at our kitchen table to fix those headaches for ourselves first. We wanted a simple way to tap into the same experts we already trusted in Irish wine shops, without any wine snobbery or hard sell. With our app you tell your local wine expert a bit about what you like, what you are eating, and your budget, and they build a bespoke order just for you. It feels like having your own personal sommelier on your phone, rooted in real shops with real people rather than a faceless algorithm.

Every wine you receive in an order is automatically saved to your online Wine Journal, so you never lose track again. Producers, vintages, prices, where you bought it, plus easy explanations of grapes, regions, and food pairings are all kept for you, ready to look back on the next time you are choosing wine. We are a small Irish business, not a big anonymous platform. No sponsored bottles, no tricks - just a straightforward way to discover better wine, support great wine shops, and slowly learn more with every glass.
